Orbie | Mustikka (Blueberry) Sculpture

Inspiration: Blueberries. Juicy, sky-blue, and big as the end of your thumb. Nothing tastes better. Mustikka is inspired by the vast and beautiful forests in Finland and the childhood memories of berry picking. Story: My art practice is like notes played out of order. Much like jazz, there is beauty in the chaos and the perfection in the imperfection... The Orbie collection is intended to capture this sense of play. Similar to a performance, my process embraces accidents and chance, without being exact or precise. My hands function as a second brain, guiding and leading the way. My art often seems child-like. It is ambiguous while free from limitations. Process: Fabric is spontaneously weaved through a steel metal armature creating a thick web-like pattern. Here, materiality is important. The sculpture uses textile waste created by fashion brands as its core medium and transforms it into something otherworldly. It is no longer disposable, but carries values of creativity and following ones own instincts.
