About The Artwork
Owl in Flight is the personification (or owl-fication, if you will) of the night sky. The wire body is wrapped in beautiful blue yarns, one with a shine to them that dazzle like stars. The wings are kinetic and can be moved to any position. I did this to try to make the sculpture dynamic to mimic the flight of the bird. The two 4ft wings are lined with metal feathers, and the hollow interior is lined with battery powered fairy-lights that sparkle against the yarn. While this was designed to be a wall piece, it can also be suspended in the air, if desired.
