I am a self-taught artist from Ukraine. Now I am in the beginning of my path in arts. For twenty years I have been working in a field very far from art, and I took a brush in my forty. The metamorphosis took place during the COVID-19 quarantine. I experienced the incomparable joy of working with color and realized that my life changed. Now I completely devote myself to art - painting and making figurines in the ArtDeco style. Creativity for me is a continuous process of searching, trying and learning. When I create, the boundaries of reality and time dissolve, my mind becomes silent and nothing but the process of creativity exists. At SAATCHIART I present a collection of papier-mâché figurines. The main one is Christmas ornaments. My choice was not random. I have an eco-friendly lifestyle. Paper is a noble, grateful, versatile and organic material, and I have a special relationship with Christmas ornaments. When I was small, every year after the end of the New Year's holidays, the tree was dismantled, and the toys were removed to the box. It wasn't enough for me. The magic of Christmas tree decorations continued to attract me, and I couldn't wait for the next Christmas. Secretly from my mother, I took out the desired box of toys and enjoyed playing with them all day until the others to come home. During the year from Christmas to Christmas, I took out toys 2-3 times. And only they and I knew that. New Year's toys are a fairy tale that has been with me for a whole year. The image of each toy is born in a different way, sometimes spontaneously, sometimes it lasts for weeks. Often I keep the image in my head without sketching and work in a stream. The implementation of each figure is a challenge. It is necessary to think over how to implement each one, find a way to implement it without increasing weight. I have a lot of applied skills that I have accumulated over my life. This allows me to experiment with figurine decoration. But whatever I use, I always add a bit of magic.
