Self-taught Artist- Master of Aluminum Embossing- Paola Maccioni develops a truly unique sculptural language: she works thin aluminum by hand in relief, without hammer or punches, transforming rigid material into light, symbolic, and contemplative forms. Based in Vicenza, Italy, Paola Maccioni reinterprets the ancient art of metal embossing through a contemporary, minimalist lens. Her work is a silent dialogue between the cold, industrial nature of aluminum and the organic warmth of the natural world. What sets Paola’s technique apart is her radical manual approach: she works exclusively with rounded-tipped burins on thin aluminum sheets. No hammers, no punches, no machinery. Every relief, every texture, and every shadow is born solely from the calibrated pressure of her hand. This meditative and labor-intensive process transforms a flat surface into a three-dimensional sculpture that dances with light. Since 2019, her 'sculptural drawings' have been sought after by private collectors worldwide. Her art is an invitation to slow down and observe the intricate details of life, captured in the eternal, shimmering skin of metal.
