About The Artwork
This sculpture captures Persephone as she leaves the underworld to spend half a year with her mother Demeter in this world. The light is at first unbearable after six months in the dark. So she shields her eyes. Her feet are standing in the water, the symbol of the still unknown deep layers of her young personality. Spring and nature can start breathing again. Original bronze sculpture I am not interested in a mere realistic image, I want to express the essence.
