- What/who inspired the work? The fact that during Covid times the consumption of alcohol dramatically increased for lots of people especially women and the immense pressure they are exposed to on a daily basis. - What do you hope its viewers will feel/think? Oh, what a cute, sexy woman in pink...Is it kitsch? Is it a Barbie doll? Finding out that the body itself is created out of beer cans, covered with wax and resin, provides an unexpected information and adds a new twist to the sculpture. The cuteness of pink and the first thought of knowing what you see has faded away pretty quickly by the new facts. Most of the time alcoholism and other addictions are often right in front of you but mostly invisible, the same here with the artwork. Once you come close to the face you can see the writing of a can and the material underneath. - Why did you choose the medium, subject matter, style? Due to the topic trash cans are part of the concept and the pink colour to manipulate the expectations of the viewers. The dark bottom is also referring to the dark secret the lady has inside herself.
