Tonino Santeusanio, was born in Crecchio in 1949. He follows the family emigrated to Germany, where he reveals his artistic skills since 60s years. While studyng at Academy of fine arts of Brera, he cooperates with Master Andrea Cascella for some years. "Since I was a little boy in Germany, I focused on art books: they fascinated me. It was an hard process to understand the meaning of time and space, as well as historical and material value", he begins by talking about himself. "My philosophic-aesthetical ruminations brought me understand the values of feelings, supremacy of man, uncertainty of daily living, fragility of living, the wish to hold a feeling that gives you freedom and the needed distance from hard reality (I lived in Germany during 1968 riots). Artworks realized during '60s and '70s years are about these themes-report: mother, family, indifference, woman of L'Aquila, motherhood weight, hourglass intended as mechanical and not human time. Statue fixes the moment of the idea. During '80s and '90s years I carve reflections and observations about deepest aspects of human's path: war monuments, Continuity, Birth, Dream, Woman portait, Hourglass 2, Dedition, Ecstasy, Modernity, Surrender, Creation, Gymnast, Mother, Loving kiss, Torso. Here, I tried to realize a symbology of masses, lights and shadows, full and empty spaces, questions and answers. In many of them there is an hidden message inside the empty space". The main task of his creatures is to awaken cosciences, shake human from his chronic numbness, hoping in a better future where the resources are equally redistribuited to improve society and individuals. "These artworks are fruits of my research, based on the mankind figure becoming "informal abstract": masses and empties have the same importance. I use only traditional technique; I work with Maiella stone extracted from the mountains of my land, Carrara marble and bronze. Some of these works are exhibited in my showroom in: Contrada Villa Tucci 270 Crecchio (Ch), Italy".
