Primordia 136 Installation Sculpture

Primordia is defined as "an organ, structure, or tissue in the earliest stage of development". These one of a kind sculptural pieces are formed out of simple window screening; I manipulate each element with a simple gesture and gentle folding movement. Creating each piece is a type of dance in midair for me. The addition of color creates a jewel tone effect as the colors blend in harmony. This installation suggests a feeling of lightness and peace imbued with a slight hint of mystery through the resulting shadows. This sculpture is even more dramatic with additional lighting, allowing the collector to design his or her own sense of drama in a space. This piece was created for a gallery installation but lends itself for outdoor installation as it is painted with Rustoleum paint on aluminum screening.
