ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was inspired to create artworks of various sizes that illustrate my attraction to rhinestones and the way the light reflects on them. This inspiration is also based on research I read which states that biologically we are attracted to sparkly and shiny things due to our desire for water. Coincidentally, the word rhinestone comes from the word Rhine, a river that carries these stones located in the Swiss Alps, Austrian, and the Netherlands border. My goal is to create a series of large rhinestones pieces that will bring a peaceful and luxurious aesthetic to the viewer.
