About The Artwork

Rain of Faith is a signature piece designed on a single teardrop fabricated in 3 separate pieces and put together to create one sculpture. A freestanding 30” tall triangular base is available customized for the sculpture. It is made of stainless steel with black patina finish. Ryan Schmidt's intention is to create atmospheric monuments that captures the everlasting properties of the sun, water, and clouds in movement, and the ever-changing seasonal landscapes of our beautiful Earth; with hopes to invoke in the viewer a nearly magical inspiration of great healing and thoughtfulness while simultaneously striking the imagination. These monuments are scaled to serve private collectors for their interior collection pieces. For over 15 years, Schmidt has turned his sketches of sweeping arcs and sleek curvilinear lines into fine stainless steel sculptures. His polished mirror-finish creates brilliant and complex image with surface that reflects the organic transformation between existence and illusion. He uses one of the highest grades of stainless steel, type 316, which is very resilient for all weather conditions; resulting in a surface that can be maintained with minimal effort. Ryan Schmidt desires to build sculpture that will inspire and endure for many generations to come.
