Liza Marie Guillen is a Dominican-American ceramic sculptor currently based in Texas. Her work draws inspiration from the sea, mythology, and transformation, resulting in richly textured, handbuilt forms that blur the line between the organic and the otherworldly. Entirely self-taught, she approaches ceramics with a deep emotional intuition and a focus on intricate detail and movement. Her sculptural ceramics have been carried by the gift shop at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Miami and continue to captivate collectors and admirers for their bold forms and tactile complexity. She is currently expanding her practice into blacksmithing, merging metal and clay in experimental new works.
