Don Campbell, a narrative sculptor specializing in portrait and figurative art, predominantly works with water-based clay, describing himself as a "storyteller in clay." Influenced by Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini and Otto Scharmer, co-creator of the Theory U process. Despite his initial pursuit of a graphic design career, he circled back to sculpting after over two decades, having worked in various capacities including founding his own advertising agency. Author of "Creativity, It’s not what you think," Campbell now integrates Otto Scharmer's Theory U into his sculpting process, focusing on what he calls "The Dance of Consciousness," abstract expressions of consciousness inspired by dance. He shares his creative process through writing, teaching, and speaking engagements, aiming to engage both artists and non-artists alike. In his artist statement, Campbell describes sculpting human forms as embodying a dynamic tension, inviting observers to engage their imagination with unfolding stories. He sees art as a catalyst for expansion, growth, and interconnectedness with all things, expressing joy and connection to nature's rhythmic flow.
