ABOUT THE ARTWORK
While most of my work I tend to paint in bright colors to add to their fun and whimsical quality - I decided to make a few smaller pieces in fine woods and leave un painted - to show the natural wood grain and give the pieces another kind of quality. It also give a chance to show craftsmanship. Restless has an interesting outer shape and equally interesting inner negative space shape. It looks real but also has an unreal quality to it because of its many tight turns and angles. It looks great on any surface. I plays well with vases and flowers.

My work is about form, space and color. I exploring subtle differences in angles and proportions. I look for elegance. I want to show simple harmony in form. When form is reduced to geometric shapes, the basic elements of balance, harmony, and beauty are revealed. I'm interested in the interplay of form and space. I am interested in universal beauty. I studied Painting, Drawing and Sculpture at SUNY Purchase. I became greatly inspired by artists such as Frank Stella, Ellsworth Kelly, Donald Judd, Tony Smith, and Sol LeWitt, and the Minimalist Movement in Sculpture.
