ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This small study portrays a horse fatigued and was inspired by reading accounts of the retreat from Mons in 1914 . The cavalry horses were slipping on the cobblestones, hurting their knees.The men threw away equipment to ease their mounts burden. I am making a larger version more that looks wounded.

Full time sculptor . I trained in Winchester School Of Art then the Russian Academy of Arts in St Petersburg. Whilst in Russia i had the oportunity to work with the inheritors of the ir native monument tradition and humanist ideals. Proffessors Sveshnikov and Karnaev in particular influenced my evolving style. I work from life when possible. my maquettes often lean away from Realism towards Expressionism. Particularly interested in sculpting military subjects from history alongside ballet and equestrian. I am Based at the moment In Winchester ,UK. My works number in the collections of Bernie Ecclestone, Jim Mellon and Nicholas Lyndhurst.
