Some of my works have their own history, and that's one of them: One winter, we saw a stray dog in the street. He was severely emaciated and sick. Locals told us that he was wandering through the streets in search of food every day. We followed him, and knew where he found refuge from the cold wind. It was overgrown with bushes, where he slept on the fallen leaves away from the people who hurt. When we returned to him in the evening, he could no longer stand up and strongly shook. We covered him with a blanket, put into a car and brought home. He was a hunting dog breed «Posavska hound» and he was very ill. The treatment was long, but it was worth it. A few months later he was again healthy and cheerful. Now he lives in a family where his love. Dog on my work is an exact replica of the dog. And it’s devoted to the people helping abandoned animals, is not indifferent to their fate. These people help to find both people and animals "new friends". All my dolls are made in a single copy, are never repeated and therefore unique. . The materials used for their construction are natural and absolutely safe. The finished sculpture is pretty lightweight. The main figure of the doll is made of self-hardening plastic. The doll has a wire frame, and the surface is painted with acrylic paints and pastel. Hello and welcome to my world! My name is Marina. I live and work in a small but very beautiful european country - Slovenia. Yes, I have an art education and even a pedagogical education, but I never specifically learned to create sculptures. I'm self-taught in this area. It’s just that one day I really wanted to try to create a voluminous female figure. And it grabbed me. I create my sculptures in mixed media: I use various self-hardening sculptural masses, papier-mâché, fabrics and paints. I find inspiration in history, myths, legends and folk art. Therefore, my works are a mixture of my personal impressions and associations intertwined with modern reality. I add a “pinch of humor” to my compositions, because I want a person to feel a sense of joy and fun when looking at them, so that he again feels that the fairy-tale world that we were told about in childhood exists and is somewhere near.
