This is a highly original and creative piece of work. Twagirumukiza is a self-taught painter and sculptor originally from Rwanda who has been living and working in France since 1994. He does not align with any particular artistic movement and employs various techniques such as painting, collage, paper mâché, and metalwork. His artworks convey his emotions, inquiries, and dreams. The piece you see here is a wall sculpture in plaster by Twagirumukiza. It consists of a geometric composition of origami-like cone shapes. The cones are all white and have a rough texture. The artwork plays with the interplay of light and shadow, depth, and perspective. Through an elegant and refined visual effect, the artist intended to express the ideas of simplicity, symmetry, and harmony in this work. This piece is part of his "Origami" series, inspired by the art of Japanese paper folding. It was created in 2017 and measures 90 x 90 cm.

🇬🇧 Passionate about sculpture and painting, I developed my own technique in a self-taught way. I started to exhibit my works to the public during my law studies at the Panthéon Sorbonne University, where I discovered the pleasure of sharing my artistic vision. In 2004, after obtaining my law degree, I deepened my knowledge of sculpture at the Heatherley School of Fine Art in London. Back in France, I continued to train at the Ateliers des Beaux Arts de the city of Paris in 2015, while continuing my artistic creation. I sculpt with different mediums: wood, clay, stone, paper. I let the final shape of the work reveal itself through the sculpting process. I compose my works with several objects, sometimes sculpted at different times. I assemble them harmoniously to express an idea, a feeling, a movement or a sound.
