Sculptural Arm of Christ Sculpture

18th century Italian arm of Christ with an aquamarine point representing a nail on an aquamarine base with mica inclusions. The arm of Christ is originally from Tuscany and was once part of a life-size crucifix. It has an aquamarine point going through representing the nails that pierced Christ's hands. It is mounted on a coordinating organic piece of aquamarine with mica inclusions that weighs 3.5 pounds. Interi works to preserve and transform Italian fragment artifacts using artistic methods and contemporary interpretations. Barlow combined the 18th century arm of Christ with the aquamarine to create an organic sculptural work of old and new. Barlow works to preserve the beauty and sacredness of the ecclesiastical artifact while showcasing it in a contemporary form.
