About The Artwork
Sea Globes are a major part of my work and have sold internationally. Their influence comes from the shoreline where I live on the west coast of Pembrokeshire. This Sea Globe, made of white earthenware clay is beautifully tactile. Fired several times to create a layering effect of the hand painted glazes reflecting the shorelines and estuaries along the Pembrokeshire coast, the piece is finished with a copper lustre rim and detail. Sea Globes are made in my studio overlooking the sea on the west coast of Pembrokeshire, please see my other Sea Globes for sale. Sea Globes are non functional pieces of ceramic sculpture.

Richard's work is influenced by the stunning coastal setting of his studio and the connection to its industrial past. Some of Richard's work has been described as abstract impressionism using ceramics as his vehicle to evoke a feeling or essence of what exists in his coastal environment.
