The sculpture is made of metal and wood. It’s theme is the identity, the definition of which is based on the concept that man is a process, which is symbolized by the form of a boat. It's carefully polished inside illustrates the wisely understood self-care, resulting mainly from properly recognized by us our own needs. Contrasting with it, the corroded outside of the boat illustrates our desire to remain nonconformist, which often ends up beeing bruised or even rejected. The boat is placed on a wooden scaffolding, which means that it has just found itself at the moment when it needs to reflect on the meaning of its journey and its futher direction. The sculpture was inspired by my trip to Greece, where, while wandering around old harbours of Athens, I watched the grounded boats that were either just beeing repaired or abandoned due to their condition.

I'm a professional artist from Poland. I graduated from the renowned Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, where I obtained a Master's Degree in Art. Currently, I mainly do graphics and drawings. The main subject of my works is the human body, but for me it is only an inspiration to create diverse, semi-abstract compositions. To achieve this, I mix different media (pencil, graphite, crayon, charcoal, oil pastel, sanguine, paint), I use expressive lines and strong textures. I tend to focus less on detail and more on the overall impression.
