ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In my sculpture, I explore transformation and interpretation. Whether it’s transforming old into new, the complex into the simple, or redefining the known into the unfamiliar, my work is rooted in observation and the conviction that we all have the power to reinvent ideas, objects, and beliefs into something that is our own. "Shadow Self" is an extension of this philosophy as it explores the Jungian concept of the archetype and the innate dichotomy that lives in us all. Reflective of the "self" that we project to the world, the shadow is that unknown, irrational dark side of our unconscious.
