Shakespeare Skull Sculpture

This Mexican style, 'Day of the Dead' themed, mosaic sugar skull is made from Wedgewood ceramics that depict characters from Shakespeare's plays, giving the piece a theatrical and flamboyant feel. My artwork is inspired by the vintage china that I collect, which I combine with found objects to make tactile, quirky and humorous sculptures for home and garden. This piece is also adorned with a vintage ceramic bird, a yellow china flower and orange tree crockery from my grandmother's collection, as well as glass, mirror and iridescent mosaic tiles, which give the piece a reflective quality.
