This work symbolize the consequences of the the mass extermination of wild animals, Rhinos, Dolphins, Whales and Tigers. On March 18, 2018, the media around the world reported the tragic news of the death of the last Northern White Rhinoceros named Sudan. The same fate befell the Chinese river dolphin, which is considered extinct in 2006 due to human activities. There are also hundreds of such cases. Once walking through the woods I came across a root of a tree and i saw in this shape a rhino horn, shark fin and many other parts of various animals that are destroyed or on the verge of extinction. So i've made sculptures, that symbolizes part of these animals from wooden root, that are waste from the forest industry. Creating my sculptures, I thought what if in 10-20 years we humans destroy all the trees. You'd think - how I will destroy all the trees?! The answer lies in your desire to buy new furniture, a new house and other wooden products. And we have 7.594 billion people and everyone wants a big house, a big table…! We can't help but use wooden products, because even this text I write on a wooden table! I suggest every inhabitant of the Earth to plant at least one tree for life, but better 10. Also make a gift to your friends and plant a tree for them. There is enough space on our planet for everyone's tree! Our PLANET is OUR HOME and if the trees disappear as a result of our activities then all the people will die! I hope that my sculptures from the wooden root will inspire you to plant trees !!!

I'm a sculptor from Ukraine. I graduated from Lviv National Academy of Arts and after that started to work and practise. As a freelancer i'm doing portaits, memorials and decorative sculptures. Also i've been taking part in many Art Festivals and Competitions, where i've been making wooden sculptures and carving. I like these activities it gives me more inspiration and an opportunity to practice with other sculptors. I'm working with different types of materials such as wood, metal, stone, resin. Usually I'm inspired by the forms of nature, trying to stylize and experiment with the form to make it natural and symbolize nature and ecology issues.
