ABOUT THE ARTWORK
My work is inspired by the works of David Smith and David Hayes as well as other mid century modern masters of abstract sculpture. I work mostly with found objects and industrial salvage. This piece has a decidedly Japanese aesthetic to the design. Hence the title "Shogun" for the ancient war lord dictators that once ruled the island nation.

During the early 1980's I did outdoor art festivals mostly on weekends while I served in the military. In 1985 I opened a regional art gallery near Syracuse, NY. We enjoyed a 26 year run, closing in 2011. I currently maintain studios in Sanford, Florida and Bernhards Bay, New York.
