Art Description

Sculpture: Acrylic, styrofoam, spikes, Metal, Paint on Steel, Soft (Yarn, Cotton, Fabric), Plastic, Iron.

"Snowball" was the evolution of the process of dipping different size styrofoam balls in various colors of acrylic gloss paint, 5 coats. It stands alone as a single piece and not part of a series at this writing. I have done numerous pieces using the 5 coat dipping process, and a series has emerged at this point. The galvanized spikes were bought at a hardware store just because I liked them. Upon finishing dipping the ball, the spikes became the Snowball's legs. Another example of the intuitiveness of my sculpture. The wood cubes as always are a scale reference.
