Social Distancing 6 Sculpture

Even before the pandemic, right when I decided to work at home as a full-time artist, I’ve been electively reclusive. I’m an introvert, and I don’t mind spending time by myself. Most of the time I would rather keep myself company than be uncomfortable exchanging small talks and superficial interactions just so I can conform to what the society thinks as lonely. “Kawawa naman siya, magisa lang siya”. The lockdown has taught to be more self-aware. To be more acknowledging of my thoughts. In the process, I learned how to not worry about the things I have no control of. Social Distancing is an 8-piece sculpture collection that portrays adapting to social restrictions due to a pandemic lockdown. The feeling of uncertainty can bring loneliness and depression, but we have to be there for ourselves. We are our own friend.
