ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Title: Solarwind For this piece I backed into op-art a little. The visual experience, as the work is viewed from one end to the other, is of undulations in depth of the shapely strips and gradients in colour on top with shades of grey on the sides. Between the strips is a backing of blue that also moves in shade from light to dark. The expanding circular arcs I have cut into the piece at three stages represent the movement of the Solarwind, along with the warm tones of one end to the cooling at the other. This piece measures: Height: 21.5 inches (54.5cm) Width: 35 inches (89cm) Depth: 1.25 inch (3cm) Two recessed keyhole slots are installed on the back for the option of horizontal or vertical. The piece is ready to hang with just one screw in a wall. The keyhole hanging method also allows the piece to hang flush and secure to the wall. Made of Birch ply Painted in acrylic *SHIPPING* I make custom wood crates for all my artworks, ensuring safe passage. All items are shipped with a tracking number. Vince is a London born, Bath city based artist who's work offers an alternative to the conventional plane and shape of framed paintings by bringing his sculptural wall art to attention the viewer. He creates artworks that focus on the interaction of colours, shape and depth. The composition and palette choices are influenced heavily by his teenage years spent as a graffiti artist. The evolution of this, post-graffiti genre, is evident in his work by the way he carefully composes sculptures of spacial balance making use of geometric and abstract forms. Vince's skillset is based in fine woodworking that has been passed down through generations of Bauhaus orientated artisans in his family. The discovery of artists such as Paul Klee, Joan Miro and Wassily Kandinsky urged him to introduce colour to his sculptures. His artworks can be found in both private and corporate collections worldwide. The Bath Times have run features on his work over a number of publications. His pieces are constructed from premium birch ply. They are brush painted in artists quality acrylic paint.
