About The Artwork

"Stairs to heaven" is a sculpture in wood and metal developed in an aerial style with an industrial art look. It measures 33 centimeters in height and the base is a wooden square lacquered in black 20x20 centimeters. The sculpture is assembled on a central steel rod fixed on the base. Each of the 16 steps of this helicoidal staircase is a pine wood slice cut at a 70-degree angle. A hole drilled in the plate allows to fix it on the central rod. Each step is separated from the next by a nut painted in black. This is what gives the industrial side to sculpture, added to the helical shape, which is reminiscent of the stairs of factories of the early twentieth century or those of the Eiffel Tower in Paris or those of the Statue of Liberty in New York. The steps are painted blue on the top. The edges and underside are black to extend the color of the base and accentuate the upward movement of the stairs. This sculpture does not really have an angle of view, it is visible from the four faces and each angle of view gives it a different shape (see photos). This allows you to either put it in the center of a table or in case you put it on a piece of furniture against a wall, you can rotate it to enjoy all its aspects. "Stairs to heaven" will be perfect in a modern, sober and bright interior. It is a sculpture entirely made by hand. It is an original and unique work that you will be the only person to possess. It will be one of the centerpieces of a balanced and refined decoration. The sculpture is titled and signed below. Your sculpture will be carefully packaged by me. It will be protected by bubble wrap and placed in reinforced cardboard for safe shipment. It will be delivered to your home by the carrier against signature. Thank you very much for your interest in my work.

Thierry Vobmann is a professional French artist who lives in Brittany, the most westerly place on the European continent. In his studio, he creates paintings on canvas and sculptures in wood and metal. For more than ten years, he has devoted himself almost exclusively to abstract painting because he has set himself the goal of expressing everything that does not have a physical appearance such as sounds, smells, warmth, feelings, the wind ... He realized that finally most of the factors that govern our lives and our behavior were not visible but noticeable. Thierry's approach logically was to remove the image of the real to keep only the essential: the pure and universal emotion. During his first year of work in abstract expressionism as this style is commonly called, Thierry has developed his own style which is abstract but in which he slides as often as possible reminiscences of figurative techniques such as perspectives, shadows, lights. He constantly seeks the balance of volumes, textures, colors, movements in order not to disturb the expression of the feeling. His works are not smoothed. They are sometimes violent, colorful, and spicy, but always in order to accentuate the desired expressiveness. During this year of setting up, Thierry totally immersed in the construction of his art, declares that he began to make dreams he said “Sometimes, when I sleep, I receive as a message, a very precise vision of a work to paint. Everything is there, the visual, the title and regularly even the written description of the painting. So I wake up and look for paper and pencil to take notes or sketch because in the morning I will not remember anything. “ Thierry also states that it happened to him, when he was very calm and tired, because Thierry frequently paints at night, to make a painting that once completed, seemed totally foreign to him. He knew he had painted it but, his hand had been guided, at no time had he thought about what he was doing, he had done it. These dreams and the feeling of being assisted in his creation brought Thierry into the search for a universal energy, a vital energy that governs everything we know, that influences our life and our decisions. Thierry's evolution from the representation of the impalpable to universal energy has led him to the experience he is now leading. He seeks to voluntarily connect to these powerful external forces. This is what he calls "Blind painting experiment".
