Steel Highland Stag Sculpture Sculpture

This stag was intended to look as though it has just noticed you and is poised ready to escape but curious. He has been built from recycled gas bottles that have been cut into random pieces and then one by one pulled out of a bucket and welded into place in a very haptic organic process of making, the sculpture grows from its outline. My family comes from the highlands in Scotland and we often see stags when out hiking in the mountains, Its red brown colour will darken slightly over the years but is fairly close to the natural colour of the real animal.
