Bio Natalia Valter is a sculptor and artist, born and raised in a small mining town in Siberia, Russia. She received two higher education degrees, including a law degree, and then opened her own law practice, which she ran until 2014. Seeking to change her life and fulfill a long-held dream of living by the sea, in 2015 Natalia moved to the Bulgarian coast, to the city of Varna. In 2018, Natalia faced serious life challenges - due to a tumor, she completely lost sight in one eye. It was from that moment that her creative path began, prompted by her hands. As she began to explore the world through her hands, Natalia began to create art as an extension of herself, as a way of communicating with the world. Natalia says, “I am my hands. I feel the world with my hands.” Natalia is a member of the Association of Artists of Varna, Bulgaria. Natalia's sculptures have already conquered the world, her works have been selected many times for Saatchi Gallery's online catalog, and have been repeatedly published in international art magazines. In 2023 Natalia was awarded the annual prize of the Association of Artists of Varna Bulgaria. Natalia's sculptures are in private collections in more than 10 countries around the world. ARTIST`S STATMENT I am my hands. I feel the world with my hands. In my art, I strive for simplicity and aesthetics. Smooth lines, smooth, minimalist, forms invite the viewer to slow down and touch them, to savor the moment, to experience a sense of harmony and balance. The black and white palette creates an atmosphere of calm, inner silence, emphasizing the depth of hidden emotions and inner harmony. I create each work of art by hand, this allows me to never repeat myself, thus maintaining the frequency of the creative flow. I am inspired by life itself and every moment of it. I am inspired by the great masters such as Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth and Constantin Brancusi to achieve purity and simplicity of form. My art is a reminder of the value of fleeting moments in the fast pace of life.
