About The Artwork

This functional clock has been symbolically stopped at ten-to-twelve for the obvious reason thats where we stand as a civilization. It is functional but are you the one to let it hit the twelve... With it's steampunk appearance, all polished and clean it's a true beauty

The metal and graffiti artist Ronald Duikersloot (1979) is a unique example of a versatile contemporary artist with a socio-critical worldview. After finishing Graphic Art School, Amsterdam in 2000, he got his inspiration from extended travels around the world. Graffiti art and the AfrikaBurn festival gave it it’s form. He performs on festivals and events as De WildLasser with flamethrowers in Mad Max kind of settings but he’s best known for his global graffiti (by the name of Spray Art). The works of Duikersloot are pretty diverse and therefore never boring, but always come with some food for thought. Often found is a message of propaganda, prejudice misunderstandings or the cradle-to-cradle concept. In short: Be sure to look for some irony in his work! His motto is: Rule # 1: "There are no rules!"
