"The American Dream, a piece of model America" Sculpture

I am a MFA sculpture student at SUNY New Paltz. I find the extraordinary within the ordinary. I look into the mundane to discover the hidden potential to turn a world of predictability into one of second glances and to provide a small glimmer of wonder. I construct well crafted sculptures from cast-aside and common construction materials. These repurposed and ordinary materials become constructions that investigate uncertainty, fears of failure, and the ultimate dissatisfaction with planned obsolescence and social complacency. My constructions challenge the constructs that shape and fabricate our perceptions of the world we imagine.
