About The Artwork

Perfect representation of my “Drop Art” consisting of metal sheet cuts normally discarded as “drop”. Keeping in tune with balance, rearranged to represent Figurative Abstract, these sculptures capture the imagination of the viewer’s own individual perception. My wall art series of metal sculpture captures subjective themes for the viewers eye and mind to identify. Meticulously hand crafted pure aluminum, hand hammered to a soft reflective nature to take on the colors and luminosity of the space it occupies.

Having a great aptitude for visual arts in elementary school I felt I could further expand my talents. Seeking an Art Major I attended the University of Wisconsin where I learned multiple disciplines and developed an appreciation to all forms of art including architecture. I later exercised that passion and turned it into my architectural design and materials supply company; Architectural Masters LLC. in Naples Florida circa 1990-2015. My designs now adorn Naples Florida in the Mediterranean style the area is so famous for. My real strengths lie in the ability to experiment with the new mediums and techniques utilizing high end 3-D software to interpret my designs and the latest CAD-CAM software and techniques necessary to create anything to a high degree of accuracy without size restrictions. This was a study in modern materials combined with up to date technology, recreating the past, with the hands and eye of a classical artist... Over the decades I've enjoyed working with many materials, however one of my most recent milestones has been discovering aluminum sheet metal as a medium. I was very young when I starting to work with sheet metal alongside my father who owned a sheet metal shop and my grandfather who worked with him. I was taught as an apprentice, how to make shapes from tin and copper by hand hammering them over various shaped anvils and tooling bucks. Several years back I was asked to replicate a museum quality aluminum alloy Piece for a rare Vincent motorcycle. It turned out very historically accurate and authentic. I soon found myself fulfilling orders for valuable historically significant motorcycle owners worldwide. Some of my pieces are in motorsports museums around the world. This began my journey working with aluminum as a medium. For me, there is an inherent joy of working with metal sheet, but aluminum stood out as a very versatile, cooperative medium. I am skilled using these unique mediums in the traditional technique "repoussé" as in the classic term with large sculpture. Along with antique tools I've sought out or inherited over the years, I have employed my own innovative techniques and designed many of my own tools.
