Sadek Rahim holds a Visual Arts MA and a AS from the Central Saint Martins School of Art and Design in London and a BA from The Lebanese Fine Arts Academy in Beirut. He returned from UK to Algeria in 2004. Sadek is also the co-founder of The Mediterranean Contemporary Art Biennale of Oran in 2011 and The Contemporary Drawing Salon in Oran 2012, in collaboration with the local organization Civ-oeil. Concerning his engagement with cultural politics, the artist has expressed his commitment to the contemporary art in Algeria and promoted an awareness of contemporary Algerian art and culture internationally. He also curated and co-curated events like Nuit Blanche Oran and Video’Appart-Oran with the French Institute and AHLAN WAHRAN with METROPOLART Cities & Artists Paris. He is a member of the jury for the 'Young Artist' Contemporary Art Prize, and a contemporary art advisor at Société Générale Algérie. Sadek has exhibited in many museums and contemporary art spaces, including Art Dubai, SWAB Art Fair, and in Algeria at the The Museum of Contemporary Art MAMA, MAMO and The National Museum Zabana & Cirta. In France he exhibited at The Montparnasse Museum, Nuit Blanche Paris, FRAC Orléans museum, The Mamia Bretesche and The TalmArt gallerys and the Malakoff art center and in UK at The Brick Lane Gallery, The Mosaic Rooms and The Oxford House. In Korea Séoul at The Busan Museum, in Dubai at The Alserkal Foundation and Art Dubai and in many other countries including Canada, USA, Spain, Italy, Argentina, Germany, Lebanon, Slovakia, Senegal, Qatar, Tunisia and Morocco.
