My early growth and obsession art must stem from deeply planted Virginia roots. As far back as I can remember, both of my grandmother’s were somehow connected physically and mentally to all living vegetation that thrives in the brackish backwaters of the Chesapeake Bay. Ecological education included identification & uses of native plants that was reiterated with rhymes, teas and dirt.(lots of dirt) I assume now my blood does run a bit green. My work, my IV, can take upwards of 50 hours to complete. I cherish every dirty minute! Anything salvaged above the ground is “ripe for the picking”. Waste not, want not..
