ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"il rato delle Sabine" The rape of Sabines - it is part of the collection "Paraphrase", study of works derived from the great themes realized by great classical masters revised now in my optical technique. Some works include mythological and historical themes, where paintings become sculptures and the game of pseudo three-dimensionality is present, sculptures become elements in a mirror with kinetic, chromatic and luminographic effects. The viewer who interacts with the work's perspectives plays a crucial role. It's a predominantly monumental collection. Carved from one block of aluminium on top of a structured base, perfect for outside and gardens squares with natural light. Edition of 8, the first artist prouf was unveilled by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Marcos Marin is a Brazilian artist born in Sao Paulo, his artistic experience begins as a virtuoso pianist. Marin celebrates in 2022 his 40 years of career as a visual artist. Known for his optical portraits, great public historical iconographic monuments, portraits of presidents, royal families. He worked for years in collaboration with his main patron, Pierre Cardin, in his residence in Lacoste. He also produced a series of portraits led by his patron Stanley Ho in Macao and Hong Kong in Asia. Marcos moved to Monaco in 2008 after creating the official monument to HSH Prince Rainier commissioned by HSH Prince Albert II who becomes his admirer and propeller of his career. Great collaborations have started in Monaco where Marin is considered a great friend of the Principality and a "humanist" for his contributions to so many charities and for his voice and for the voice of his art in so many causes. Marco Marin is present in the most relevant public and private collections on 5 continents. Words of an Art Expert: Marcos Marin’s serigraphies, paintings and sculptures not only combine three-dimensional light, color and movement, but also bring about an interpersonal connection with the viewer. The portraits of contemporary celebrities come to life as soon as they are approached, and outdoor sculptures play with the surrounding setting to enhance environmental characteristics. Marin places the viewer in a curious situation, where the viewer triangulates with the art piece in order to observe a variety of physical perspectives. Marin’s artwork also leverages the laws of human perspective through color interaction. Portraying a balance between warm and cold colors, Marin’s masterpieces create an unprecedented balance that brings the artwork to life, as the effects create spatial and three dimensional appearances, and subsequent movements. Along with breakthrough and eye-catching optical illusion methodology, Marin brings about Vasarely’s ‘fourth dimension,’ as his technical wisdom of combining layering, colors and emotion highlights responsive and transcendental effects that resurrect iconic figures.
