The composition based on Yelets lace ornament with the Star of Lada in the center of it. This ancient Slavic symbol is associated with female power. Lada is the goddess of spring, the patroness of love, hearth and home. The early Slavs used to bring gifts to Lada before the wedding and before sowing bread, they asked her to help settle in a new place, to bring happiness and harmony to the house. Therefore, interior decorations with the Star of Lada signifies best wishes for family happiness and can be a good gift for a wedding, housewarming, and marriage anniversary. Symbolism: The square in a middle of the amulet is a symbol of harmony, a sown field, and a home. Two intertwined ovals symbolize the connection of the female and male principles. The edges of ovals are for 4 cardinal directions. There is a similar male amulet named the Star of Rus, or The Quadrate of Svarog. Unlike the smooth lines of the Star of Lada, the ellipses in the male symbol are sharp as the tips of a sword. Glow: The pattern is contoured by a luminous yarn that glows in the dark with a mysterious greenish soft glow. For the effect to work, the product must be "charged" by light (the brighter the light, the more intense the glow will be; the longer the charging, the longer the effect). Mounting: The metal rings are screwed to three corners of the panel so it can be placed horizontally or vertically, depending on the features of the interior and your preferences. Ever since I can remember I've been feeling that life is an enormous interactive museum of various opportunities and skills and to stick forever near just one of the plethora of exhibits is deadly boring. Therefore after graduating from a liberal arts college in Moscow and studing poetry at the M. Gorky Literature Institute I started working alternately as a writer, editor and designer. My professions walk hand in hand: the list of books that I wrote includes several biographies of painters. I also illustrate my own poems and design covers for books written by my colleagues. A few years ago I was editing a splendid article by one of the authors of our magazine. It was about steampunk. I googled the term - and was truly impressed with what I found. All those colorful pictures of the talented cosplayers and their whimsical characters, elaborated steam mechanisms, entourage interiors and jewelry - they were spectacular! I dug a little deeper discovering steampunk music, movies, books, video-games, etc. It's a huge inspiration! That is how my steampunk (or steampunk-esque) cycle of poems and pictures has begun.
