Andrés Ortega (Córdoba, 1984) is a sculptor from southern Spain whose work explores the symbolic, the monstrous, and the poetic. Since childhood, drawing was his daily refuge — a practice later transformed by his fascination with Gothic literature and tales of liminal beings: vampires, ghosts, werewolves. His imagination draws from authors like Mary Shelley, Polidori, and Lovecraft, and materializes in sculptures that seem to emerge from myth or dark fable. Each piece is a unique creature, charged with mystery, ambiguity, and an unsettling beauty. Andrés works from Córdoba, where he has developed a personal visual language that blends the archaic with the contemporary. His work has been exhibited locally and is available internationally through Saatchi Art. “My sculptures are fragments of an inner world that doesn’t always obey logic, but always follows emotion.”
