Born in Amarillo, TX in 1927, Tommy graduated from West Texas State University in 1952, and had private studies under Dord Fitz. When he was 45 years old, he and his family moved to northern New Mexico where he started Shidoni Foundry along the Rio Tesuque on a former apple orchard. This 14,000 square-foot facility, over the next 35 years, would grow into two Shidoni Galleries, two Sculpture Gardens, and one of the largest art foundries in the United States. Tommy has had a considerable amount of work shown across the country, and is part of many private and corporate art collections including the Amarillo Museum of Fine Arts in Amarillo, Texas; San Francisco Museum of Contemporary Art in San Francisco, California; New Mexico Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico; Denver Art Museum in Denver, Colorado; and the Contemporary Art Museum in Houston, Texas.
