About The Artwork
Desert reptiles often seem to blend into the landscape, but, on closer inspection they are ablaze with colour. This little desert frog is covered with tiny "psychedelic" millefiori tiles in a 3 dimensional mosaic. He was then sanded and polished to a glassine finish, As always, no paint is used and the colour comes from the clay itself. The frog is 4" long and 3.5" wide toe to toe.

Jim currently lives in Arizona and works exclusively within the polymer clay medium. This particular medium allows him not only to sculpt, but also to "paint"' with the clay. When his creations were dubbed "synthetic offspring" by a collector, Jim became Clay DADDY!! His extraordinary techniques, and use of blended color, are best represented by his "3 dimensional mosaics", however, he also creates mythical creatures and characters and occasionally even caricatures. His work is always one-of-a-kind. Chewy, his loyal (but slightly anxious) miniature poodle is his constant companion and muse.
