Artist Statement I do not have the words that can define my true passion to teach and create art. I believe the creative process is an ongoing and evolving process with endless results. The result of this process is a vast amount of work that shows my growth as an artist. Although it is hard for me to write about my work, it is my goal to present art that reflects my positive views of the subject matter I chose to create. I am in tune with my true self, the subconscious, contemporary society, the vast history of art and civilization, and the wonderful complexities of all the chosen mediums I use in my artwork. As an Art Educator, I continue to grow as an artist and the role of student is sometimes who I am when I work with my high school students. I work with multiple mediums and the human form continues to show up in my work. I love the freedom abstract work allows me and so my work continues to change. Therefore, my work of art can be viewed as a visual distillation of personal life experience, knowledge, intuitive, critical, and abstract thinking. I'm always anxious to see the results of my new work. :) Ray Di Greco Biography I currently reside in Albuquerque, NM., where I maintain an art studio and teach high school Fine Arts and ceramics. (I have also lived in Southern California but returned to New Mexico in the early 70's). The elements of abstract expressionism, surrealism, figurative (abstract and realism) are all combined and intertwined in my artwork. Each 2-D work is an experiment, and my 3-D work is an interpretation of the human form and abstract form.
