The creation of this sculpture was inspired by my thoughts on the topic of internal transformation, expressed in the desire to fly, overcoming gravity. Internal and external changes are always interconnected. I like to work with electric welding and to “mold” forms from metal. Each sculpture is individual and unique, as it is created entirely by hand, without the use of circulation forms.

ASTIAN REY Painter / Sculptor / Mystificator Born in 1987 in Kiev, Ukraine. The artist creates his works in the style of sacred minimalism, with its inherent alchemical and mystical symbolism. The author explores the criteria for the formation of the worldview of a modern person, as well as possible ways of development of civilization. Astian actively participates in exhibitions. He is the winner of the world's first BlockChain Art-Hackathon. «For me, the process of creating works is meditation, during which I immerse myself in the space limited by my workshop. In my work I use the language of symbols, often creating my own. I call my own style “Sacred Minimalism”. In my works, one way or another, the themes of philosophy, mysticism and self-exploration are displayed, in order to find a path to harmony and my own truth. In my artistic practice, I love working with materials such as metal, concrete and wood. I experiment a lot with different shapes, working with electric welding, and other tools that help create unusual surfaces and textures. Thus, each work is individual and created by hand. I like to create rust textures combined with gold paint. This combination of colors helps me create works that are filled with sacred context. I also experiment with light effects, introducing built-in light sources into my works, which in a special way emphasize the relief and highlight the semantic fragments».
