Turning Pages Sculpture

Turning pages¨ is an inspiring open book, based on my open personality, curiosity, impatience, eagerness to discover what’s next. No need to lick your fingers to move on, to see the light before the end of the tunnel. A magical twist with a wishful ending. How much of an open book are you? No one brags about being open. An open book is synonym of transparency and can be seen as a sign of weakness. The truth is that you cannot be an open book unless you are sure about who you are. Open people, like me, have nothing personal to hide, we share ourselves without fear. What you see is what you get. Our gaze reflects our thoughts , our facial expression transmits our feelings... We are open to criticism and feedback from others to become better and better. Open people tend to be intellectually curious, creative and imaginative people. Turning pages was created during Covid- 19 and it is intended to offer the viewer that chance to move on to a fresh start. The book was built from a light weight canvas, textured in white layers of cardboard, dipped in white unpolluted gesso. A magic hand (latex glove, postured with silicone) unveils the future,
 It is white to allow the viewer to visualize words, images, any sort of fantasies in its blank pages.
 The book is open in the centerfold, symbolizing midlife, my 50s, a sexy page that balances the whole act of 100 pages, a life!
 It looks great in-between sofas as a sculpture table (on pedestal) or hanged on a wall.
