Inspired by the courage it takes to stand up for what you believe in. Even if it means standing alone. "Unrestrained Force" was constructed entirely free hand by meticulously welding thousands of steel pieces together to form the structure. Countless hours then go into fill welding and sculpting the structure’s surface. No processes such as casting or molding, which are standardized methods in metal body sculpture are used in my work. The sculpture stands on tip toes slightly leaning forward on the edge of the base. The left hand is sculpted into a fist. Although I place strong emphasis on metal processes, my primary objective is to develop the concept of the piece. Quality and longevity are very important to me. I strive to construct works that will stand the test of time. This work has been powder coated. The base includes 3 anchor tabs welded on for installation. I trust that this sculpture will give it's audience an opportunity to wonder, question and fill in their own story.
