About The Artwork

Seismic waves are vibrations in the ground. When generated by phenomena i.e earthquakes. They are the source of inspiration for this piece. I also sought the challenge of squeezing the infinity loop design into an intimate block of mara crème limestone meanwhile preserving the structural integrity of the carving. Mounted by a single pin on a mara crème limestone base, the overall piece measures 54cm x 23cm w x 24cm d, Note: I recently created a new base which better suits the piece. It will rotate on its base and is meant for one to feel by hand turning the piece as the seismic waves vibrate- traveling uninterrupted through the loop. Base 17.4 kg Loop 3.8 kg
