Wired Sculpture

My love of art grew from my time under the tutelage of my dedicated City of Chicago Lake View High School art instructor, Mr. Johnston who was also assistant football coach, so in the fall months I pretty much spent my entire days under his instruction. Our school was one of only two in the city that offered art as a major study. Mr. Johnston taught me many art mediums but for the most part I settled on pen and ink. It was in 2003 upon moving to the Phoenix area that I discovered Gourds. As my Gourd work developed I began using metal to sculp new ideas and develop mixed media pieces. To do so, I began to learn to weld, which has added yet another new and exciting facet to my career.
