Laurence JENK is a French Contemporary artist, renowned worldwide for her Wrapping Candy sculptures of all sizes and colors. JENK's artwork can be found in more than 50 countries in numerous galleries and important private, public and institutional collections. Previously known as Laurence Jenkell, she changed her name for JENK in 2020. Born in 1965, she was made Chevalier of the French Order des Arts et des Lettres in 2020. The Pop-Art artist lives and works in the South of France and opened a workshop-gallery in Monte Carlo in 2022. For more than 20 years, Laurence JENK has been sculpting larger than life, colorful sculptures of various sizes in mediums such as plexiglass, polyester, aluminium, marble, bronze, and Murano glass. More than a medium, JENK's candy has become a language. Her works are part of a reflection and a cultural process: the subject of Candy combining simplicity and universality. With great freedom and determination, Laurence JENK conducts her research and develops her themes to enrich her repertoire of forms. The candy remains the hard core of her artistic signature, but she skillfully explores all its possibilities. She declined her emblematic Wrapping Candy on collections such as ADN, Robots or Butterflies. She extrapolates the twisting gesture to other forms and materials to denounce social issues such as environmental, societal issues and the animal cause. Laurence JENK ranked n°430 in the top 1000 of the most sold international contemporary artists (2000 - 2020) at auction over the past twenty years (source: Artprice report).
