Light blue Raku hand made ceramic vase decorated with red crystals.
This work is a special gift for anyone who appreciates unique pieces of ceramic art work. The bowl is made in a low-firing manner called Raku which has its origin in Japan during the 16th century.
The glazed parts are burned at about 1000 °C into a wood or gas-fired kiln. Afterwards they are removed red hot and cooled quickly.

This process generates small cracks within the glaze, so-called “crackles”, which will become dark after smoking into
sawdust and lend the pottery its typical optics.

Due to the random controlled RAKU firing process unique surfaces can be generated.
Every piece is one of, individual and unique.

Note for use of Raku ceramics:

- Liquids can be filled in for some hours but after a while a slightly moisture could diffuse to the surface of the ceramics.

-it's possible to add a small vessel inside to hold water.

- Generally I recommend washing by hand, because the salts of the dishwasher could affect the Raku ceramics in the long term.
- Due to the low temperature firing process the Raku ceramics are not shock-resistant, or frost-proof and also not suitable for microwave.
- The used glazes are lead-free and non-toxic.

Measurement:
       7.87 x 7.87 x 9.05 (h)inch. (Top rim - 5.51 x 5.11 inch).
                        20 x 20 x 23 (h) cm. (Top rim - 14 x 13 cm).

This piece is a one of a kind bowl, a beautiful gift for ceramic collectors and art lovers. A lovely addition to your table ware.

I'm a ceramic artist who makes pots for 17 years working in Spain, England and Israel. Usually I hand build my ceramics work by process of smoke firing and raku firing create textures and patterns on the vessels surface. The smoke firing and raku process allows me to work towards unpredictable results making each piece completely individual and unique. Making ceramics is like travelling a sacred road for me, creating a new link between matter and spirit using the elements of Earth, Water and Fire. My ceramic artworks are one of a kind and were exhibited in museums and galleries. also they are in private collections all over the world.
