ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Torso is a study of the male human form. In the architectural carving shop where Tina apprenticed, she willfully observed each carvers approach/process from the raw block of stone to their finished carving. Torso began as a clay maquette and when the perfect block of carrara marble was found, Tina began the lengthy process of creating what she named Torso. Ultimately the piece was born out of respect to those who had inspired her, and this was her subtle way of saying thank you
