"unabled wisdom" (2) Sculpture

Sylvia Evers makes poetic, quiet sceneries by using the form of the human body, symbolic gestures and the shape of animals. Vulnerability and introspection are recurring themes in Evers artwork. Alongside this introspective silence, Evers reflects on the interplay between doubt and conviction. “Beauty lies in the incapacity of the human soul; close to the emotions and longings inherent to the existence of humanity.” Sylvia Evers was born in Rheine (D) in 1971. She studied at the “Akademie voor beeldende kunst” (AKI) in Enschede (NL) and achieved a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1999. In 2006 she was awarded a stipendium by the fund for art BKVB in the Netherlands. Her work is represented in several private and public collections like Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NL), Province Gelderland (NL) and Steinfurt (D). She has participated in different assignments in public spaces. Evers lives and works in Arnhem (NL).
