Ãkos Sziráki is cosmopolitan- a composite of many cultures, languages and a complex world of experience. From his biography one senses the at times stony, but always interesting, path his life has taken and how it has positively shaped him. His work is unique and universal. He doesn't seek legitimacy through conformity, rather his form of expression is driven by inner law. Through consistent minimalization of his palette the figures on his canvas achieve a third dimension. Close observation of his paintings reveals a remarkable color sensibility. In an apparently monochrome surface a self-created blue simultaneously takes on hues of green, yellow, white or black.
The figures that inhabit his paintings and the sculptures that lend an infectious liveliness to every room are unmistakably mutations of people, stones, and unknown, yet to be born organisms which have a lifecycle entirely of their own. Only the relentless exploration of this hidden world, without regard to risk of injury or misjudgement, opens the possibility of perception and realization.
